Senior Mechanical Assembly & Testing Technician

About the role

ETEL develops and manufactures high-performance motion control components and mechatronic motion systems, focused on direct drive solutions. It is looking for an experienced technician to join its Singapore team. The role covers assembling and adjusting mechanical components, running functional and dynamic tests on motion systems, diagnosing and repairing non-conforming products, and providing service and training to customers and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and adjust mechanical components with precision tools (micrometer, caliper, etc.) according to technical drawings and work instructions.
• Set up and run test benches, carry out dynamic and functional tests and record results.
• Diagnose and repair non-conforming products and returned motion systems, including component replacement and corrective actions.
• Carry out inspection, quality control and testing in line with company standards and procedures.
• Enter data accurately into ERP systems for product traceability and repair documentation.
• Provide service and practical training to customers, suppliers and subsidiaries on motion systems.
• Report issues and propose improvements to the responsible manager, and support technical documentation such as Bills of Materials and work instructions for suppliers.

Required profile

• Techician or Bachelor's degree in Mechanics, Mechatronics or Electro-mechanics.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in mechanical assembly and testing of motion systems.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Able to work autonomously at customer or supplier sites and available for frequent travel across Asia, plus initial and refresher training in Switzerland.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Functional testing of motion systems, including test bench setup, dynamic performance evaluation and troubleshooting.
• MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with ERP systems.
• Experience with linear/rotary guides, bearings and encoders is an advantage.
