Senior Mechanical Engineer – Product Design

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead product design initiatives, turning customer needs into robust mechanical solutions. You will own the development of modular hardware architectures and guide projects from concept through mass production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop modular hardware architectures, mechanical concepts, and detailed designs.
• Perform engineering analyses, identify technical risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Own mechanical development schedules, delivering designs within cost, quality, and timeline targets.
• Integrate quality considerations into designs and support project planning.
• Create prototypes, test methods, and experiments to verify and validate designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing on injection molding, gears, machining, sheet metal, and assembly.
• Resolve manufacturing, performance, repair, and product improvement issues, including value engineering.
• Work cross‑functionally with electrical, firmware, software, marketing, and other teams.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers on project tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development from concept to mass production.
• Proven experience designing complex mechanisms such as clutches, gear trains, cams, and linkages.
• Strong knowledge of electro‑mechanical components, plastics, sheet metal, die‑cast parts, and rubber.

Required skills

• SolidWorks CAD software.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Design of Experiments (DOE) and Six Sigma (preferred).
• Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
• Pugh Matrix analysis.
