Senior NDT Inspector

About the role

The Senior NDT Inspector will lead and coordinate all non‑destructive testing activities during the construction phase of FPSO projects. This role ensures the integrity, safety and quality of welds, materials and critical components by applying advanced NDT techniques and adhering to international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all NDT inspection activities, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT/MPT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT/DPT) and Eddy Current Testing (ECT).
• Develop and implement NDT inspection plans and schedules aligned with project milestones and quality requirements.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements and codes such as ASME, API, ISO and ASTM.
• Supervise, mentor and support NDT inspectors, maintaining competency and certification.
• Review inspection results, prepare reports and maintain accurate records of defects and non‑conformance reports.
• Identify non‑conformities and work with stakeholders to define corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction and quality teams to meet inspection requirements throughout execution.
• Promote safe working practices in line with HSE regulations and company procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical, Marine or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of NDT experience in offshore, marine, oil & gas or EPC industries, preferably on FPSO construction.
• Valid NDT certifications (e.g., ASNT Level III, PCN Level III, CSWIP, AWS Welding Inspection) and knowledge of international codes.
• Proven experience managing NDT inspection teams on large‑scale construction projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Ultrasonic Testing, including Phased Array and Automated UT.
• Experience with Radiographic Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Liquid Penetrant Testing and Eddy Current Testing.
• Familiarity with Digital Radiography and advanced inspection technologies.
• Operation of NDT equipment, inspection software, data analysis tools and automated inspection systems.
• Strong knowledge of ASME, API, ISO and ASTM standards.
