Senior Planner (NEC4)

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Planner with strong expertise in NEC4 contracts to develop, manage and maintain project programmes across major construction, infrastructure, engineering or industrial projects. The role covers planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, delay analysis and NEC4 contractual programme compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and manage detailed baseline programmes using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project, and prepare NEC4-compliant contract programmes
• Establish WBS, activity coding structures and resource-loaded schedules, and produce short-, medium- and long-term schedules
• Monitor progress against approved baselines, produce look-ahead programmes and recovery plans, and support tender planning and programme submissions
• Prepare Accepted Programmes, assess Compensation Event impacts, and help demonstrate entitlements for extensions of time and programme changes
• Support programme reviews, contractual discussions and programme records to support claims and dispute avoidance
• Run progress reviews, critical path analysis, weekly and monthly planning reports, dashboards and earned value reports
• Identify schedule risks, run schedule impact and what-if analyses, maintain risk registers and support EOT assessments and delay claims
• Liaise with clients, contractors and consultants, facilitate planning workshops, mentor junior planners and planning engineers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Minimum 8-12 years of planning and scheduling experience in construction, infrastructure, utilities, transportation, energy or industrial projects
• Minimum 3-5 years on projects administered under NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts
• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, complex project programmes

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (essential)
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project
• Experience supporting Compensation Events, EOT assessments and programme submissions under NEC contracts
• Power BI and project controls reporting tools are advantageous
