Senior Powerplant Performance Engineer

About the role

Pratt & Whitney Singapore, part of RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defence company, is hiring a Senior Powerplant Performance Engineer. The role is hybrid, alternating between office and remote work, and sits within the Component Repair business. It supports engine health monitoring, diagnostics, performance analysis and customer-facing engineering advice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily on-wing engine health monitoring and diagnostics services to all PW EHM contracted airlines.
• Give customers direct, timely feedback on troubleshooting procedures and maintenance recommendations, and periodic fleet status reports.
• Support troubleshooting of engine operational and performance issues with performance-informed advice.
• Carry out engine analytics such as shop visit induction performance analysis, engine test performance assessment, trend analysis and correlation studies linking test cell to on-wing performance.
• Contribute to engine monitoring analytics development, process improvements and automation.
• Support performance-informed shop visit cost optimisation.
• Take part in maintenance planning discussions covering engine removal, shop maintenance needs and resolution of operational problems.
• Prepare and present technical presentations and reviews to programme stakeholders and customers.

Required profile

• BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
• Self-starter with strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Passion for aerospace and eagerness to learn.
• Rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.

Preferred qualifications

• Aerospace industry experience (minimum 3 years).
• Practical knowledge of engine hardware and system-level design.
• Knowledge of engine performance and operability concepts, component aerodynamics, air systems, heat transfer and secondary flow.
• Experience communicating with internal and external customers.
• Programming and data analytics / data visualisation tools (Python, VBA, MATLAB, etc.) is a plus.
