Senior Principal Foundry Engineer - Product Engineering

About the role

The External Wafer Manufacturing team partners with external foundries to secure a stable chip supply for NXP business lines. This senior position drives yield enhancement for lead products during new technology introductions, process transfers and fab enablement, working closely with technology and product teams worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement yield monitoring methodologies and automated yield tracking infrastructure.
• Analyse yield data, identify improvement opportunities and standardise best‑known yield enhancement methods across multiple technology nodes.
• Collaborate with internal organisations and Asian foundries to allocate resources and apply proven yield‑enhancement techniques.
• Assess corporate yield‑enhancement needs, influence strategy and ensure alignment with business goals.

Required profile

• Minimum M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of semiconductor experience focused on yield enhancement or a comparable area.
• Fluent in spoken Mandarin and proficient in English for regular interaction with Mandarin‑speaking suppliers.

Required skills

• Yield monitoring and automated tracking methodologies.
• Yield analysis and failure analysis techniques.
• Understanding of SoC architecture and product test patterns.
• Experience setting up yield management systems, coding (any language) and familiarity with database structures.
• Strong data‑analysis capabilities.
