Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will support cost consultancy and project development by preparing detailed cost plans, managing tender processes, evaluating contracts, and advising clients on procurement strategies throughout all project stages.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost plans by accurately taking off quantities and pricing for projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, designers and owners to update cost plans as project scopes change.
• Advise clients on effective procurement strategies to optimise outcomes.
• Support contractor pre‑qualification and evaluation to ensure suitable selections.
• Prepare tender documents, including Bills of Quantities, Schedules of Works and Rates.
• Manage the tender process, compare returns and assist client negotiations with contractors and subcontractors.
• Evaluate and administer contracts, including valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, design consultants and contractors.
• Certify final payment claims and produce comprehensive cost reports for client approval.
• Provide cost advisory support from feasibility studies through to final account settlement.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in both pre‑construction and construction phases of projects.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills for client and contractor interactions.
• Analytical and strategic thinking to assess project costs and procurement options.
• High attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
• Collaborative mindset to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
