Senior Research Fellow – AI in Mental Health

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) at NTU seeks a Senior/Research Fellow to lead AI-driven research on early detection of mental illness in youth cohorts across Singapore and New Zealand. The role combines advanced data science with psychiatric and neurobiological insights to develop predictive models using multi‑modal data.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments, collect and curate high‑dimensional behavioural and biomolecular datasets.
• Develop and validate predictive AI models integrating video, text, language, GWAS, RNA‑seq, proteomics and other omics data.
• Maintain international research standards and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Present findings at scientific conferences and engage with interdisciplinary collaborators.

Required profile

• PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., computational biology, data science, psychiatry, neurobiology).
• Minimum 1 year of hands‑on experience with high‑dimensional data and AI model development.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with national research codes and standards.

Required skills

• Machine learning and statistical modelling.
• Multi‑omics data integration (GWAS, RNA‑sequencing, proteomics).
• Processing of video, text, and language modalities.
• Programming for data analysis (e.g., Python, R or equivalent).
