Senior Site Reliability Engineer (IaaS), Singapore

About the role

Tencent Cloud, within the Cloud & Smart Industries Group (CSIG), is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (IaaS) in Singapore. The role monitors and maintains Tencent Cloud's IaaS products to ensure stability and reliability, while driving architectural and operational improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain Tencent Cloud's IaaS products, resolve technical issues and mitigate risks across technical scenarios.
• Drive optimization and upgrades of product architecture and operations through deep understanding of cloud architecture and technical principles.
• Promote automated operations, high-availability component construction and high-availability drills to improve operational efficiency.
• Use tools and platforms such as CI/CD, intelligence and data to raise the operations team's efficiency, reduce costs and avoid repetitive work.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in development, architecture design and system operations, preferably in large-scale distributed systems in the cloud.
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP or Tencent Cloud; cloud certification and cloud operations experience preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Mandarin Chinese is required as about 50% of the role involves collaboration with the China headquarters.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of distributed systems and common open-source components such as CDN, Nginx, microservices, Kubernetes, Redis, Kafka, MySQL and HBase.
• Proficiency in one or more languages such as Java, Go, Shell and Python scripting.
• Strong Linux, TCP/IP and troubleshooting skills.
• Docker and Kubernetes operations and troubleshooting.
• MySQL or another database, NoSQL and caching databases such as Redis.
• Technical documentation and clear communication skills.
