Senior Social Worker – Child Protection Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection Specialist Centre. You will provide home‑based services and support to families and children experiencing abuse or severe neglect, working closely with the Ministry of Social and Family Development.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans.
• Carry out social investigations, assessments, case formulation and intervention planning.
• Prepare timely reports and maintain accurate case records.
• Implement safety and intervention plans.
• Facilitate meetings, coaching sessions, and counselling for families, parents and caregivers.
• Develop wrap‑around services through advocacy, referrals and collaboration.
• Provide emotional support and brief counselling to selected families, children and young persons.
• Supervise junior social workers.

Required profile

• Degree in Social Work or a degree with a Graduate Diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• 3–5 years of experience in child protection, mental health or family violence, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, stressful environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage professionals and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Comfort working with children and adolescents.
• Willingness to work two nights a week and occasional weekends.
