Senior Specialist, Audit and Assurance Services

About the role

The Senior Specialist in Audit and Assurance Services works under the direction of the Client Audit Director (CAD) and the Auditor-in-Charge (AIC). The role covers financial, operational, SOX 404 and IT audits, integrated audits and process audits, both domestic and abroad, and may involve leading small teams of auditors with limited management supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Execute financial, operational, SOX 404 and IT audits, integrated audits and process audits, domestic and abroad, to maintain a strong internal control environment.
• On occasion lead small teams of auditors with limited management supervision while performing audit work.
• Partner with colleagues, clients, support groups and other organisations to complete assigned audit work.
• Execute audit programmes and work papers, including walkthroughs and sample testing, in line with quality standards and timelines.
• Help write audit summaries and reports describing control concerns, risks and recommendations.
• Take part in department projects and deliver the specified results.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism, independence and integrity, with good judgment in the conduct of work.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience in internal audit, public accounting or general accounting.
• Experience with audit methodology and internal controls.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including working with client and business process owners and colleagues.
• Effective oral and written English.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
• Valid driving licence.

Required skills

• Accounting and auditing procedures, including internal control testing and information technology auditing.
• Understanding of information technology and ability to use various applications and systems.
• Strong time management, attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Preferred: CPA and Big 4 or regional accounting firm experience. The position is regular, with flexible work arrangements and no relocation or visa sponsorship mentioned.
