Senior Staff Engineer – Industrial Engineering (Productivity & Digitalization)

About the role

As a Senior Staff Engineer in the Industrial Engineering team, you will drive productivity and efficiency across Infineon's global semiconductor operations. You will transform manufacturing data into intelligent, actionable insights using generative AI and advanced programming.

Key responsibilities

• Take end‑to‑end ownership of digitalization, productivity and benchmarking projects, from data ingestion to deployment.
• Manage the lifecycle of predictive algorithms for workforce optimization and equipment‑man ratio forecasting.
• Partner with global stakeholders to translate operational pain points into AI‑driven solutions.
• Research and pilot emerging AI trends to eliminate non‑value‑added activities and design user‑centric interfaces.
• Develop and deploy generative AI assistants that interpret performance data from Tableau and MES systems.
• Scale and improve KNIME workflows and Tableau dashboards, integrating real‑time MES data streams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience or strong interest in semiconductor manufacturing or high‑tech industrial environments.
• Proven project‑management and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Python programming (Pandas, NumPy).
• Generative AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, OpenAI API, AWS Bedrock).
• Data visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI, KNIME.
• SQL/Oracle database knowledge.
• Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
