Senior / Staff Nurse (Infection Control)

About the role

JurongHealth Campus is looking for a Senior / Staff Nurse (Infection Control) to join its team and provide high-quality patient care. The nurse is responsible for facilitating, implementing and evaluating the hospital-wide infection control programme so that patients are kept in a safe environment free from infection.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Nurse Clinician or Senior Nurse Manager to define and develop plans that enable full participation of the unit or ward in infection control policies and guidelines.
• Ensure staff follow infection control protocols and correct non-compliant practices during daily ward rounds.
• Help investigate outbreaks of infection and studies identified by the Infection Control Committee, and assist in managing outbreaks affecting the hospital, campus and nation.
• Identify systematic collection and recording of healthcare-associated infections.
• Work with the Nurse Clinician on planning and evaluating infection control audits and training programmes, including pandemic outbreak preparedness exercises.
• Share infection control research and projects at conferences and seminars, including publishing papers.
• Teach and orient new nursing staff and other personnel assigned to the department.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of patient education programmes run by units and wards.

Required profile

• Diploma in Nursing or State Registered Nurse Certificate.
• For the Senior Staff Nurse position, a relevant Advanced Nursing Diploma or equivalent and experience in infection control is preferred.
