Senior Staff Nurse, Intensive Care Unit

About the role

The role provides specialised care to critically ill patients who need non-invasive and invasive ventilation support in high dependency and intensive care settings.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and interpret clinical, laboratory and diagnostic findings.
• Manage and troubleshoot monitoring devices and haemodynamic monitoring systems, and set up, calibrate and maintain critical care equipment.
• Administer and monitor oxygen and medical gas therapy, and provide humidification and aerosol therapies.
• Manage airway devices such as endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes, and support patients on invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
• Recognise and escalate life-threatening respiratory conditions promptly.
• Assist in bronchoscopy procedures where applicable.
• Provide safe intra-hospital transport for critically ill patients and manage cardiopulmonary support during transport.

Required profile

• Registration with the Singapore Nursing Board is mandatory.
• At least 3 years of experience in a high dependency or ICU setting is preferred.
• Willingness to commit to 3 rotating shifts, including weekends.
• Demonstrated competency in critical care nursing; an Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Critical Care) is an advantage.
