Senior / Staff Nurse

About the role

The National University Hospital (NUH) is looking for a dynamic, resilient and highly dedicated Senior / Staff Nurse. The Senior / Staff Nurse is a key member of the Nursing Department and plays a major role in the care of patients.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' needs on admission and throughout their stay, plan and implement care, and monitor progress against the care plan.
• Document care and outcomes on established charts and forms, carry out prescribed treatments and investigations, and communicate patients' progress with physicians and allied health colleagues.
• Take part in physicians' rounds, prepare and assist physicians with procedures, and follow up to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide patient and family information and education on disease prevention, health education and rehabilitation.
• Use equipment properly and economically, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and supervise and guide new and junior staff and nursing students.
• Act as Staff Nurse in-charge and demonstrate competency in core competencies and unit-specific programmes.
• Participate in clinical and service quality activities and research studies, and take on additional duties assigned by Nursing Officers, Senior Nursing Officers, Assistant/Deputy Director (Nursing) and Chief Nurse.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse.
• Diploma in Nursing or Degree Nursing from a recognised training institution approved by the Singapore Nursing Board.
• Able to perform 3 rotating shifts.
