Senior Staff Nurse, Urgent Care Center

About the role

The Senior Staff Nurse at NUHS plays a key role in delivering timely, safe and patient-centred care to patients with urgent healthcare needs. The role calls for strong assessment skills, effective response in emergency situations and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Triage patients and set care priorities based on physical, psychological and social assessments.
• Carry out focused assessments of complaints, medical history and medications according to triage guidelines.
• Provide safe, patient-centred care while ensuring patient comfort.
• Monitor patients regularly, document assessments and evaluate changes in condition.
• Assist clinicians during physical examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Start timely interventions when conditions worsen or monitoring equipment shows adverse findings.
• Help with CPR and emergency interventions, working with physicians to stabilise patients.
• Share care plans and treatment updates with patients and their next-of-kin where appropriate.
• Coordinate with other departments and institutions for admissions, transfers and ongoing care, and accompany critically ill or emergency patients on hospital transfers when needed.

Required profile

• Registration with the Singapore Nursing Board is mandatory.
• At least 4 years of experience in an emergency setting.
• An Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Emergency) is an added advantage.
• Only Singapore citizens and permanent residents may apply.
