Senior Staff / Staff Design Engineer - Digital SoC

About the role

Silicon Labs is hiring a Senior Staff / Staff Design Engineer to join its digital design team, which develops highly integrated mixed-signal SoCs for low-power MCU and wireless products. The role is based at the office above Tai Seng MRT station and is listed as hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Detailed block architecture and design of digital circuits, including block specifications developed with cross-functional teams
• Define the design approach and partitioning, then implement designs through RTL coding while following quality guidelines
• Integrate digital blocks and IP into the SoC infrastructure, including bus matrix, memory interfaces, clocking, power management and reset management
• Perform block-level verification using directed, random and assertion-based methods, and verify SoC integration and mixed-signal and RF IP integration, including co-simulation
• Develop embedded firmware to verify SoC integration and validation
• Carry out requirement, architecture, design and verification reviews, and contribute to customer-facing reference manuals and datasheets

Required profile

• MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals
• Knowledge of SoC or ASIC design tools and methodologies, and of microcontroller embedded processors
• Preferred: knowledge of Cortex-M based systems, scripting languages (Python, Perl, Tcl), AMBA or other bus protocols, communication peripherals, and design-for-testability skills

Required skills

• RTL coding and software/firmware coding (a plus)
• SoC integration and verification, including UVM verification (a plus)
• Logic simulation, testbench development and performance verification (a plus)
