Senior Technical Architect - Payments Transformation

About the role

Capgemini is seeking a Senior Solution/Technical Architect to lead a large‑scale payment transformation for a leading global financial institution. The role involves designing, guiding and validating the technical architecture that modernises core payment systems while ensuring scalability, resilience and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Define solution architecture for payment platform orchestration services, covering integration, data flows and system interoperability.
• Define and support non‑functional requirements such as high availability, throughput, security and disaster recovery.
• Design reusable integration patterns for core banking, SWIFT/ISO 20022 messaging, clearing and settlement, and third‑party payment rails.
• Develop a working design model or prototype to validate the proposed solution.
• Produce architecture documentation, design artifacts and present solutions to client governance forums.

Required profile

• 15+ years of IT experience with significant experience in solution, enterprise or technical architecture roles.
• Proven experience architecting large‑scale, mission‑critical systems, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of integration patterns, microservices, APIs and event‑driven architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern core banking or payment ecosystem technologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to present to senior client leadership.
