Senior Test Equipment Engineer

About the role

Micron's Singapore Back End Manufacturing is looking for a Senior Test Equipment Engineer to join its MSB Test Engineering department. The role supports overall test operations, drives continuous improvement in tester utilization, and helps set up and qualify new testers. It also involves coaching and training other team members.

Key responsibilities

• Improve test equipment availability and OEE through equipment FMEA, spare inventory management and continuous improvement projects, and track equipment performance with reports and dashboards.
• Automate test equipment data gathering and use data analytics and AI-enabled tools to spot equipment degradation trends and reduce yield losses.
• Work with manufacturing staff and shift technicians to meet output and quality goals, set up and qualify new tester setups, and coordinate new product runs and validation testing.
• Analyze equipment failures, manage test equipment hardware, software and documentation, and troubleshoot problems with the help of AI-enabled knowledge tools.
• Run continuous improvement projects, develop software and automation solutions to monitor the test floor, review test plans for time reductions, and prepare training and certification materials.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics, Computer, Data Engineering or a related discipline with relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with equipment, manufacturing processes and operational problem solving.
• Experience in equipment reliability, downtime reduction and continuous improvement.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills, and ability to influence stakeholders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of predictive maintenance, equipment automation, Industry 4.0 or smart manufacturing is advantageous.
• Familiarity with data analytics, AI/ML, equipment health monitoring or digital manufacturing is a plus.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, SQL, Tableau or Power BI is highly valued.
• Experience with automation, system integration and Microsoft productivity tools is an advantage.
• Preferred: familiarity with MES systems, automation and data analytics tools such as JMP and Python.
