Senior/Research Fellow - Ageing and Disease Research

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is seeking a Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow to join its research team. The work focuses on advancing understanding of ageing patterns in Asian populations and their potential associations with disease. The successful candidate coordinates multiple sub-studies, manages research data, produces reports, presentations and publications, and works closely with collaborating researchers and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide bioinformatics analyses for large-scale multi-omics datasets, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics and lipidomics
• Design, implement and troubleshoot bioinformatics pipelines for high-throughput biological data analysis
• Clean, integrate, statistically analyse and interpret complex biological datasets
• Develop and maintain data management workflows and keep research datasets organised, secure and compliant with ethical guidelines
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and external collaborators to support project implementation
• Keep up to date with emerging bioinformatics methods and tools and apply them to ongoing projects
• Contribute to grant writing, peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations

Required profile

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Molecular Biology or a related field
• At least 2 years of relevant bioinformatics experience, with hands-on data analysis, especially multi-omics integration and ageing research
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary, cross-institutional teams
• Good project management and organisational skills

Required skills

• Programming and scripting in R, Python, Bash or similar tools
• Building and optimising bioinformatics pipelines in Linux or high-performance computing environments
• Statistical analysis, data integration and reproducible research practices
• Familiarity with biological databases, omics platforms and bioinformatics software
