Sensory Specialist (6 Months Contract)

About the role

Nestle R&D in Jurong, Singapore is hiring a Sensory Specialist for a 6-month contract. The specialist develops and generates the final sensory report used by the category to support product and technology development projects, contributes to innovation and renovation activities, and helps panel leads and technicians become more autonomous.

Key responsibilities

• Support innovation and renovation projects and technical acceptance releases, advising site and category sensory teams on the right sensory evaluation methods.
• Analyse and interpret data, write final reports in Nestle's report format and present results when required.
• Coach sensory panel leads on best practices, assess their readiness to become effective specialists and build training plans to close gaps.
• Manage sensory panels and give timely feedback on areas for improvement.
• Share knowledge through the Nestle Sensory network meetings and keep up with developments in the field.
• Help transition the current technician role into an internal panel leadership role.

Required profile

• Academic background in food science or food technology, with scientific, technical and statistical knowledge.
• 5-10 years of experience in sensory, preferably in FMCG from the R&D side.
• Broad experience in operations or business is a plus.

Required skills

• Dedicated sensory software and statistical tools such as XLStat and EyeQuestion.
