Senior Manager, Engineering

About the role

Arrow Electronics is looking for a Senior Manager, Engineering to lead its engineering department in Singapore (Tai Seng). The role manages all engineering activities and directs the team to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques and develop test procedures. It is a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all activities of the engineering department and direct them through subordinates.
• Analyse technology trends, human resource needs and market demand to plan projects.
• Work with management, production and marketing staff to assess engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness and customer demand for new and existing products.
• Forecast department operating costs and direct the preparation of budget requests.
• Direct personnel activities such as recruitment, hiring, performance evaluations and salary adjustments.
• Provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues and customers, and exercise full management authority including performance reviews, pay decisions, recruitment, discipline and termination.

Required profile

• Typically a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
• A 4-year degree.
• Accountable for the performance and results of a medium-sized team or multiple small teams, and for the budget, performance and results of the department.
• Adapts departmental plans and priorities to resource and operational challenges, and addresses issues with impact beyond the own team.
