Server Operation Engineer II

About the role

We are looking for a Server Operation Engineer II to provide operational support for large-scale building management and physical security systems. The role involves handling ticket-based requests, deploying and maintaining servers, and ensuring reliable infrastructure for global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install operating systems on newly racked servers and prepare them for production use.
• Re-install and recover server OSes, troubleshooting boot, disk, network and system-level issues.
• Perform large-scale remote OS installations using PXE boot and related provisioning workflows.
• Conduct post-installation validation of network connectivity, hardware status, disk recognition and management interfaces.
• Troubleshoot Linux bare-metal servers, including boot failures, RAID problems, kernel/driver anomalies and service errors.
• Resolve server network problems such as IP configuration, VLAN connectivity, DNS resolution and IPv4/IPv6 issues.
• Use out-of-band management tools (IPMI) to monitor health, access remote consoles and power-cycle servers.
• Coordinate with remote teams, vendors and manufacturers to investigate batch failures and hardware defects.
• Manage RMA processes and secure media destruction for hardware replacement or disposal.
• Participate in on-call rotation, respond to incidents, and improve automation with Bash or Python scripts.
• Document procedures, troubleshooting steps and standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of systems administration or server operations experience.
• Ability to follow defined procedures and exercise judgment on routine tasks.
• Strong communication skills for working with internal and external partners.
