Service Desk Engineer

About the role

DayOne is seeking a Service Desk Engineer to join its growing IT team. You will provide first‑line technical support for hardware, software and network issues, ensuring smooth operation of our data centre environments across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and networking problems.
• Respond to general IT requests and keep security software up to date.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of software, hardware and other resources.
• Log, track and close tickets, documenting resolutions and updating the knowledge base.
• Perform regular system, equipment and service inspections.
• Provide after‑hours on‑call support and assist remote users from branch offices.
• Collaborate independently and within a team to complete any additional IT duties assigned.

Required profile

• Diploma in Computer Science, IT, Computer/Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Windows support/help‑desk role.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot complex software and hardware issues.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of networks (TCP/IP, WAN, LAN, ADSL, VPN).
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with Windows desktop and Windows Server operating systems.
