Site Engineer – Utilities Diversion

About the role

Guru Construction is seeking a Site Engineer to lead utilities diversion activities on a large‑scale project in Woodlands, Singapore. You will coordinate with authorities and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution of utility and traffic diversions while maintaining project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Manage design and routing of utilities diversion, supporting structures and related works.
• Coordinate with agencies such as PUB, SPPG, LTA for approvals and progress.
• Liaise with approved subcontractors for diversion works and tender preparation.
• Prepare and submit approval requests, construction impact assessment reports (CIAR), and permits to dig (PTD).
• Incorporate diversion plans into construction schedules and oversee reinstatement planning.
• Conduct site pegging, demarcation, regular inspections, and visual checks of existing utilities.
• Develop emergency response plans for utility incidents.
• Review daily, weekly and monthly progress reports before submission.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of engineering experience on large, complex construction projects.
• Ability to work 5.5 days per week on‑site.

Required skills

• Utility diversion planning and coordination.

• Permit to dig (PTD) and NCE (notification for commencement of earthworks) processes.
• Site pegging and demarcation of utilities.
• Regular utility inspection and emergency planning.
