Software Development Intern – Cloud‑Native Java

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Software Development Intern to join our Application Delivery‑Engineering team. You will work on cloud‑native Java applications, supporting both development and deployment while gaining hands‑on experience with modern cloud technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the development team to design, develop and implement cloud‑native Java applications.
• Deploy, maintain and monitor applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Optimize and troubleshoot existing codebases for performance improvements.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of microservices architecture and containerised solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Research emerging technologies and best practices related to cloud‑native development.
• Support the creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a Computer Science, Software Engineering or related degree program.
• Proficient in Java with solid object‑oriented design knowledge.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Basic understanding of microservices, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
