Software Engineer II (Java)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join JPMorganChase’s Corporate and Investment Banking Technology team. In this role you will contribute to the design, development and maintenance of secure, stable and scalable software components that power the firm’s technology products.

Key responsibilities

• Write secure, high‑quality code in Java (or another modern language) and perform unit testing.
• Design, develop, and troubleshoot software components while considering upstream and downstream system impacts.
• Apply SDLC tools and automation, including AI‑assisted coding, to improve productivity.
• Gather and analyse large data sets to identify issues and support decision‑making.
• Collaborate in an agile environment using CI/CD pipelines, focusing on application resiliency and security.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in system design, application development, testing and operational stability.
• Experience developing and maintaining code in a large corporate setting using modern programming languages and database query languages.
• Familiarity with the full Software Development Life Cycle and agile methodologies.
• Exposure to cloud technologies and security best practices.
