Sous Chef – Local/Chinese Cuisine

About the role

LE Rainbow Catering is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to lead the preparation and cooking of local and Chinese dishes for its catering operations. You will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure high‑quality meals are delivered on time and meet all safety and halal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise daily local/Chinese food preparation and cooking activities.
• Determine production schedules and staffing needs to meet catering service timelines.
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment usage to kitchen staff.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, equipment upkeep, and compliance with SOPs, SFA, halal, and workplace safety regulations.
• Mentor, train, and provide performance feedback to culinary team members.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in local/Chinese cuisine and managing a culinary team in a catering environment.
• Strong sense of taste and creativity in food presentation.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced kitchen and work weekends, public holidays, and early mornings.
• Residence in or near Bedok, Singapore is preferred.
