Special Education Teacher (Contract) – Singapore

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher on a contract basis to join AWWA School in Singapore. The successful candidate will design and deliver inclusive lessons, support students with diverse needs, and collaborate with families and professionals to achieve student goals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan engaging and well‑paced lessons that address diverse student profiles.
• Deliver evidence‑based pedagogy and meaningful activities tailored to individual educational needs.
• Implement appropriate assessment models, provide accurate feedback, and offer instructional supports.
• Build strong, caring relationships with students.
• Formulate data‑based, student‑centered IEP/ITP processes and support goal attainment in partnership with families, allied professionals, and stakeholders.
• Design and maintain positive classroom routines and a safe learning environment.
• Apply behaviour plans and techniques to manage complex student behaviours.
• Handle emergency situations and follow school safety procedures.
• Engage in continuous professional development.
• Participate in professional learning teams, CCA activities, and school committees.
• Maintain communication with external stakeholders and support school initiatives.
• Partner with families for transition planning and post‑school outcomes.
• Manage daily administrative tasks such as attendance tracking and form collection.

Required profile

• Diploma in Special Education (DISE) conferred by NIE (Trained Teacher).
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in a special‑needs school.
• Experience interacting with or working with persons with disabilities (advantage).
