Sr. Engineer, Strategic Planning (Projects) - Fixed Term

About the role

Air Liquide Singapore Private Limited (ALSg), the largest industrial gas company in south-east Asia, is hiring a Senior Engineer, Strategic Planning (Projects) on a fixed-term basis. The role coordinates with internal stakeholders and business development to develop competitive, compliant technical and commercial proposals for customers, and drives strategic project budget controls, cost forecasting and procurement planning for gas and chemical equipment while managing supplier risks and ensuring compliance with safety and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support business development with competitive, economical and technical costing and solutions that comply with Air Liquide and industry standards.
• Work with stakeholders to develop technical proposals and commercial offers, supporting risk assessment, clarifying scope and giving technical input for a safe and reliable offer.
• Ensure projects comply with Air Liquide rules and systems and with applicable external regulations.
• Coordinate with the Strategic Planning Manager on problem solving, resourcing and budgeting.
• Develop and implement project budget control strategies for specialty gas and chemical equipment, and align procurement plans with budget allocations.
• Establish workflows for budget tracking, cost forecasting and project financial compliance, and report periodically on budget performance, cost trends and procurement efficiency.
• Run training on strategic planning, budget control and procurement, and run programmes to improve project costs.
• Identify single-source issues and drive mitigation plans for new or additional competitive suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or another technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in project management, cost control or strategic planning in industrial activities.
• Proven ability to forecast budgets alongside scenario and variance analysis.
• Experience creating and managing dashboards for budget tracking, cost monitoring and trend reporting.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration with finance, procurement and engineering teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Power BI or similar data visualisation tools is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is an added advantage.
