Stack Scaling Engineer – Vanadium Redox Flow Battery

About the role

We are seeking a Stack Scaling Engineer to lead the scale‑up of Vanadium Redox Flow Battery (VRFB) stacks from laboratory and pilot stages to commercial systems. The role bridges R&D, testing and production, ensuring performance, reliability and manufacturability for large‑scale deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the scale‑up of VRFB stacks from prototype to commercial scale while maintaining performance and reliability.
• Develop, assemble and validate stack designs through structured testing, durability studies and failure analysis.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and supply‑chain teams to make designs production‑ready and cost‑effective.
• Establish test rigs, SOPs and quality benchmarks, using performance data to drive continuous design improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in electrochemical stack development, preferably with VRFBs, fuel cells or similar systems.

Required skills

• Electrochemical stack development and assembly (flow frames, bipolar plates, membranes, gaskets, electrodes, end plates).
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM), compression/torque control, sealing and leak prevention.
