Staff Software Engineer, Ecosystem

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for its Ecosystem & Integration Platform team in Singapore. You will lead the technical direction of the ecosystem platform that connects Airwallex's financial products with the software customers already use, working five days a week from the Singapore office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical roadmap for the App Marketplace and Extension Framework, including architectural decisions, coding standards, observability patterns and security practices.
• Design and evolve platforms and integrations across accounting, HR, ERP, marketplace, payment and open-banking systems.
• Build secure, reliable APIs, SDKs, webhooks and UI-extension patterns so third-party developers can build on Airwallex.
• Improve developer experience through documentation, sandboxes and tooling.
• Partner with engineering, product, design and go-to-market teams to deliver secure, reliable experiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience developing internet applications, large financial systems or e-commerce platforms.
• Direct experience building or maintaining a public-facing developer platform, app marketplace or extension framework.
• Experience designing scalable systems and leading ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through delivery.
• Preferred: deep expertise in Domain-Driven Design, hands-on cloud-native technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and advanced observability tools, and experience integrating AI or large language models to automate integration workflows.

Required skills

• Strong programming or scripting skills in Java, Kotlin, C++, Python or a similar language, with deep familiarity with its standard library and idioms.
• Preferred: cloud-native technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and advanced observability tools.
