Sustainable Finance Intern

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is offering a front-office internship in its Asian Investment Banking Division, Sustainable Finance Department, based in Singapore. The internship runs from 11 January 2027 to 30 June 2027 and suits candidates interested in sustainability, net zero, carbon neutrality and sustainable finance, who enjoy a fast-paced environment and helping clients reach their sustainability targets through financing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior Sustainable Finance team members in promoting sustainable finance in APAC, including the origination and structuring of sustainable finance transactions
• Support business development and marketing initiatives such as market analysis, client target data analysis and rating tools
• Develop and enhance products, and prepare marketing materials, reports and business management reports
• Support MUFG-led industry events and partner with relationship managers and product areas to develop and market sustainable finance products
• Gain cross-product experience across Debt Capital Markets, Project Finance and Transaction Banking from a sustainable finance perspective

Required profile

• Open to Singaporean and PR students only; the internship is open to students from the university partners in Singapore
• Interest or passion for sustainability and/or sustainable finance
• Keen to read research papers and follow the latest innovations
• Curious, energetic, determined problem solver, diligent, team player and focused on results

Required skills

• High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Data analytics: comfortable turning numbers into a clear story
• Mandarin proficiency is advantageous, as the role may involve Mandarin-speaking stakeholders
