System Engineer - Unix/Linux

About the role

We're looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Engineer, Unix/Linux System to join our growing infrastructure team in Singapore. In this role, you'll take ownership of managing, maintaining, and supporting our Unix/Linux systems while ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and manage Unix/Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) including operational tasks, backup procedures, and SLA compliance.
• Ensure high availability and performance of Unix/Linux platforms supporting critical business functions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues impacting system operations in a timely manner.
• Perform system monitoring, performance analysis, and optimization using industry‑standard tools.
• Execute patching, updates, and vulnerability management to maintain system security and stability.
• Develop and maintain shell scripts (Bash, Korn) to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Design and implement infrastructure solutions following best practices and organizational standards.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting processes for knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and project management to support infrastructure initiatives.
• Support disaster recovery planning and exercises to ensure business continuity.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in Unix/Linux system administration.
• Strong knowledge of Linux distributions such as RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu.
• Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Korn shell) and solid understanding of file systems, LVM, and RAID.
• Experience with system monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix) and networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, SSH).
• Experience with patching, vulnerability management, and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
