Systems Software Engineer - C

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring a Systems Software Engineer focused on C programming in Singapore. The role is hybrid, with an average of 2 days per week spent in an HPE office. It covers designing, developing, troubleshooting and debugging software for operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools, and influencing hardware design.

Key responsibilities

• Design limited enhancements, updates and programming changes for subsystems of systems software.
• Analyze designs and determine coding, programming and integration activities needed.
• Write parts of testing plans, protocols and documentation, and debug code issues.
• Work with project teams and outsourced partners to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions.
• Communicate with partners on design status, progress and issue resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
• Typically 2-4 years of experience.
• Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English and the local language.

Required skills

• Software systems design tools and languages.
• C programming.
• Basic Python is advantageous.
• Testing methodology, test plans, debugging and testing scripts and tools.
• Designing software systems running on multiple platforms.
