Tech Risk Supervisor (Monitoring and Surveillance)

About the role

This role sits within the Technology & Cyber Risk Supervision Department (TCRD) of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). It supports the department's mission of overseeing and supervising financial institutions' cyber security and technology risk management practices so that Singapore's financial sector remains resilient. The supervisor monitors the technology risk posture of systemically important financial institutions through ongoing surveillance and analysis of risk indicators.

Key responsibilities

• Collect data and interpret risk indicators to obtain early warning signals of potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct thematic reviews and/or surveys of systemically important financial institutions to assess their technology and cyber resilience.
• Work with internal stakeholders, other government agencies and external partners on national or cross-sector initiatives monitoring technology risk.
• Implement tools and platforms for data analytics, data visualisation and reporting of insights.

Required profile

• Team player able to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
• Analytical and inquisitive, with a strong interest in technology and cyber risk trends.
• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, able to explain technical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Required skills

• Experience applying AI/ML and data analytics to structured and unstructured data.
• Experience designing dashboards, key risk indicators (KRIs), key performance indicators (KPIs) and executive reports.
• Advantageous: familiarity with NIST Cyber Security Framework, ISO/IEC 27001, CIS Controls and/or COBIT.
• Beneficial: Python/R, SQL, and data visualisation tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
