Technical Executive - School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering

About the role

Singapore Polytechnic (SP), Singapore's first polytechnic, is hiring a Technical Executive for its School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering. The appointee joins the lab management team that keeps the school's labs running smoothly, supports academic staff in teaching, and guides students in their project work while following safety regulations. The role also offers administrative and technical support for key school initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support the smooth functioning of the school's labs and assist in or conduct lab experiments for PET and CET courses.
• Support academic staff in teaching and supervise and guide students in their project work, ensuring safety regulations are followed.
• Undertake project and consultancy work with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage stock inventory, acquire resources for the laboratories, and help with yearly budgeting for teaching materials and equipment maintenance.
• Liaise with vendors and evaluate supplier quotations for purchasing materials and lab equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic and IT systems and carry out minor repairs of faulty lab equipment where necessary.
• Housekeep lab facilities through regular maintenance and keep them safe according to safety guidelines.
• Coordinate, consult with stakeholders, follow up and implement support for school functional and project work.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Electronic/Computer Engineering or an equivalent qualification in a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience working on engineering projects.
• Experience in electronics design and development, embedded systems or computer networking is an added advantage.
• Self-driven, good interpersonal skills, willing to learn on the job and a team player.
