Technician I – Sterile Production Operations

About the role

As a Technician I in Sterile Production Operations at Alcon, you will support the preparation of ophthalmic products, ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and safety standards within a cleanroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform technical tasks related to processing ingredients and pharmaceutical products, ensuring compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements.
• Operate manufacturing equipment such as autoclaves, ovens, stills, filtration apparatus, and sterile filling equipment.
• Handle raw materials and finished products.
• Perform general maintenance of equipment and cleanroom areas.
• Follow standard operating procedures, maintain records, and participate in quality checks.
• Inspect products, address deviations promptly, and maintain accurate documentation to ensure rigorous quality control.

Required profile

• Minimum NITEC in Engineering field with 1 year of relevant manufacturing experience, preferably in a cGMP environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Team player with high attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Comfortable working in a controlled cleanroom environment with strict gowning requirements.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental responsibilities in manufacturing.
• Willingness to work 8‑hour rotating shifts and lift loads up to 25 kg.

Required skills

• Operation of autoclaves, ovens, stills, filtration apparatus, and sterile filling equipment.
• Familiarity with aseptic techniques and cleanroom practices.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office and production systems.
