Technician II, Chemical Production Operations

About the role

As a Technician II in the Chemical Production Department at Alcon’s Tuas plant, you will perform routine and non‑routine processes for chemical formulations used in lens materials and saline solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Execute routine and non‑routine chemical production operations.
• Manage calibration, documentation, inventory (including cycle counts), maintenance and compliance for production equipment.
• Maintain training records and ensure adherence to technical, quality and safety SOPs.
• Participate in or lead projects aimed at improving process efficiency and reducing operating costs.
• Follow Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) guidelines and report unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Support safe handling of chemicals, waste disposal and the site Data Integrity program.

Required profile

• Minimum NITEC in Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical or Life Sciences or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably GMP/GDP production.
• Ability to lift heavy weights; forklift licence is a plus.
