Technician III, Repair & Maintenance Engineering

About the role

As a Technician III in Repair & Maintenance Engineering within Alcon's LS1 Technical Support Team, you will handle complex technical tasks in production operations, including equipment setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement maintenance programs to maximize facility and equipment availability and productivity.
• Coordinate maintenance engineering work and liaise with production staff to schedule repairs, safety inspections, and the supply of new plant and equipment.
• Review mechanical and electrical engineering specifications and assess new equipment designs for reliability, ease of maintenance, and part availability.
• Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Make decisions within the scope of tasks, applying advanced technical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Follow GxP regulations by adhering to SOPs, maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring quality control, and completing required training.
• Contribute to organizational compliance and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Diploma or NITEC in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance or similar role, troubleshooting equipment and machines.
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment is preferred.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour rotating shifts.
