Technician III – Repair & Maintenance Engineering

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Technician III to lead preventive maintenance and repair activities for its manufacturing facilities. You will plan, design, and implement maintenance programs that keep equipment running efficiently and support production schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment availability.
• Coordinate maintenance work with production teams, schedule repairs, and manage safety inspections.
• Review mechanical and electrical engineering specifications for new equipment, ensuring reliability and ease of maintenance.
• Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, and validation activities.
• Make technical decisions within scope, applying advanced problem‑solving skills.
• Follow GxP regulations, SOPs, and maintain accurate documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum NITEC/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• 2‑3 years of relevant experience in maintenance engineering or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and preventive maintenance practices.
