Technologist - ChemLab

About the role

Micron is hiring a Technologist for its Chemical Laboratory in a clean-room Fab facility. The role involves routine sample analysis following standard operating procedures, preparation of samples and reagents, and collaboration with area chemists to troubleshoot analytical and equipment issues.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze routine samples according to SOPs and report to the internal customer
• Use analytical techniques and instruments such as chromatography, spectroscopy, titration, particle sizing, volume and weight measurements
• Prepare standard samples and reagents, including vapor phase deposition (VPD), extraction, digestion and serial dilution
• Monitor and sustain equipment, perform preventative maintenance on assigned tools and take part in TPM activities (6S audit, housekeeping, stock of reagents, standards, spare parts and consumables)
• Collaborate with area chemists to troubleshoot analytical and equipment issues and keep the Chemistry Laboratory Manager informed
• Integrate AI-assisted tools into daily work and share AI-enabled improvements with colleagues

Required profile

• Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Materials Science, Life or Biomedical Science, or equivalent experience
• Ability to troubleshoot basic problems and address root causes
• Good teamwork, multitasking and communication skills, and willingness to take initiative
• Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts and rotate day/night shifts as needed

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of analytical equipment such as ICP-MS, ICP-OES, titrators and gas-liquid mass spectrometry is preferred
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of analytical techniques
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Preferred: Tableau, Excel VBA, Microsoft automation tools and/or Python
