Trading Analyst

About the role

Chevron Supply and Trading supports its upstream, downstream and chemicals businesses by providing commercial support to crude oil and natural gas production and to its refining and marketing network. It is looking for a Trading Analyst to join Product Supply and Trading in Singapore. The analyst works closely with trading, marketing, operations, accounting, risk control and other regional trading offices to analyse and report commodity earnings, exposures and mark-to-market positions, and takes part in multi-functional project groups on new business and process initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support the trading team, including physical and financial activities
• Analyse pricing and hedging activities as part of a global trading team
• Understand, manage and explain commodity earnings, exposures and mark-to-market positions
• Solve front, mid and back-office issues with support teams
• Communicate trading activities and performance results to management, traders and support teams
• Streamline and simplify business processes
• Ensure data integrity for accurate position, P&L, exposure and earnings reporting
• Provide backup support for other Trading Analysts

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Experience in the energy, manufacturing, transportation and/or finance industry
• Ability to collaborate and work in a demanding environment
• Time management, multi-tasking and prioritisation skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisation skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Digital mindset and passion to grow in the trading organisation

Required skills

• Highly proficient in MS Excel
