Training Officer – Community Living & Skills Development

About the role

The Training Officer will support persons with intellectual disabilities (PWIDs) to develop independence in daily living, community mobility, social interaction and work readiness. Based at MINDS' centre in Queenstown, the role focuses on clients residing in Woodlands, Yishun and Kebun Baru.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and monitor Individual Learning Programmes (ILP) for each client.
• Teach and supervise activities of daily living, home living, community mobility and recreational skills.
• Coordinate group activities and ensure safety and security procedures are followed.
• Collaborate with allied health professionals to implement health‑fitness, behaviour management and sensory awareness programmes.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and update client management systems.
• Engage with caregivers through home visits and dialogue sessions.
• Support centre operations, logistics and event management as required.

Required profile

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or special needs.
• Ability to assess client needs and tailor learning activities accordingly.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with clients, caregivers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to client safety, confidentiality and professional ethics.
