Treasury & Disbursement Specialist (1 Year Contract)

About the role

The Treasury & Disbursement Specialist (Finance Operations Executive) is a key member of the Treasury & Disbursement team, responsible for end-to-end disbursement operations, month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations. The role covers daily processing of insurance payouts, commissions, expenses and investment bank transfers, alongside reconciliation and continuous process improvement. It reports to the Lead, Finance Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily payments for insurance payouts, vendors, staff reimbursements, commissions, incentives and investment bank transfers, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with policies and controls.
• Respond to Life Operations queries on payment status and accounting codes for insurance and expense processing.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, inter-fund and inter-company reconciliations.
• Support month-end closing, including accruals and provisions (premiums, claims, NBP), fixed asset accounting and expense allocations.
• Act as a system user and first-level troubleshooter for finance systems such as Life Asia, Oracle, Anaplan and Alteryx, handling escalations and user enquiries.
• Drive process improvement initiatives to strengthen controls and streamline workflows.
• Prepare ad-hoc schedules, provide audit documentation and support internal and external audits.
• Support finance projects, system enhancements and other management assignments.

Required profile

• Insurance industry experience with a solid understanding of insurance accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Proven experience in payment processing, balance sheet reconciliations and month-end closing in a high-volume environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
• Ability to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across functions.

Required skills

• Proficiency in financial systems; experience with Oracle Fusion is preferred.
