Vice President, Japanese Corporate Banking Division for APAC

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting a Vice President for its Japanese Corporate Banking Division (JCBDA) in Singapore. The role covers the APAC region and focuses on shaping the regional strategy and business plan for Japanese corporate banking, controlling the budget and balanced scorecard, and promoting profitable business initiatives across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Create regional strategy and business plans for the Japanese Corporate Banking business and control the budget and balanced scorecard in APAC
• Promote business initiatives across the region to maximise profit, working with Tokyo head office, branches, product offices, other divisions and partner banks
• Analyse data to show performance and update stakeholders, and prepare ad hoc departmental reports and presentations
• Manage the expense budget and headcount, monitor financial performance against targets and evaluate regional branch performance
• Build strong stakeholder relationships internally and externally, and work with Relationship Managers on cross-border strategy
• Organise and assist with regional conferences and follow other instructions from management

Required profile

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in banking or financial services
• Minimum degree qualification
• Japanese proficiency at JLPT N1 level (or equivalent) to communicate with Japanese-speaking stakeholders in Tokyo
• Good understanding of the banking regulatory environment, including local requirements

• Strong organisational skills, time management and ability to manage the expectations of diverse stakeholders
