Vice President, Japanese Corporate Banking Division for APAC

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting a Vice President for its Japanese Corporate Banking Division (JCBDA) in Singapore. The role covers the APAC region and focuses on shaping the regional strategy and business plan for Japanese corporate banking, controlling the budget and balanced scorecard, and promoting profitable business initiatives across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Create regional strategy and business plans for the Japanese Corporate Banking business and control the budget and balanced scorecard in APAC
• Promote business initiatives across the region to maximise profit
• Support the division's strategy and work with headquarters, branches, product offices, other divisions and partner banks
• Analyse data to show performance and update stakeholders, and help prepare ad hoc reports and presentations
• Manage the expense budget and headcount, monitor financial performance against targets and evaluate regional branch performance
• Work with the Tokyo head office and relationship managers to promote cross-border strategy and build stakeholder relationships internally and externally
• Organise and assist with regional conferences and follow company policies

Required profile

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in banking or financial services
• Minimum degree qualification
• Japanese: minimum JLPT N1 certification (or equivalent business-level proficiency) to communicate with Japanese-speaking stakeholders in Tokyo
• Good understanding of the banking regulatory environment, including local requirements
