Vice President, Japanese Corporate Sales, Transaction Banking

About the role

MUFG Bank is looking for a Vice President for Japanese Corporate Sales within the Transaction Banking Office for Asia (TBOA) at its Singapore branch. The role drives business development and manages client relationships for Japanese corporate clients, focusing on transaction banking solutions such as cash management, supply chain finance and FX.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the bank's APAC network to deliver integrated transaction banking solutions for Japanese corporate clients.
• Support the planning and execution of transaction banking strategies for Japanese corporates across APAC, working with country-based relationship management teams.
• Take on leadership roles in initiatives that advance business objectives and MUFG values.
• Manage client relationships for cash management, supply chain finance and FX, providing customised advice.
• Originate and customise structured products or processes to meet client needs.
• Drive regional deals with branches across APAC and pursue new cash management, supply chain and FX opportunities.
• Comply with country regulations and MUFG group policies, and improve product documentation, operations and approval processes.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of relevant sales experience in transaction banking or corporate banking; experience with Japanese clients is an advantage.
• Minimum bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related field.
• Proven track record of winning deal mandates through collaborative approaches.
• Team player comfortable in a matrix organisation.
• Japanese is preferred but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Demonstrated experience advising clients on cash management products or trade finance solutions.
• Excellent negotiation skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
