VP, Alternative Ops Fund Accounting - Private Markets APAC

About the role

State Street's Alternative Investment Solutions (AIS) delivers fund administration to hedge funds, private equity and real assets funds across 13 countries. It is seeking an experienced operations leader to head its Private Markets servicing teams across Asia, owning end-to-end service delivery for APAC teams and building a scalable, well-controlled platform aligned to the APAC operating model.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Private Markets operations teams across APAC and shape an integrated operating model that simplifies governance and supports scalable growth.
• Drive transformation, automation and standardization of processes, data and controls, partnering with Technology and global operations hubs.
• Act as escalation point for strategic clients on operations, service performance and new business readiness, and build partnerships with Client Service, Product, Technology, Risk, Finance and regional leadership.
• Develop a strong leadership bench through talent development, succession planning and performance management.
• Ensure timely, accurate NAV calculations, financial statements and investor reporting, and oversee capital calls, distributions, waterfalls, carried interest, allocations and management fees, plus private credit loan servicing.
• Manage year-end and audit cycles, monitor KPIs, SLAs, error rates and client feedback, and maintain a strong risk and control environment.
• Lead business continuity planning, onboarding of new clients and leading a multi-location team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree required; finance, accounting, economics or business preferred.
• 10+ years of financial services experience, including 7+ years leading multi-location operations teams.
• Track record of building and inspiring operations teams, and experience leading change in regulated, multi-location environments.
• Experience managing complex institutional clients requiring senior-level engagement.
• Excellent written and spoken English, able to present to senior audiences.
• CFA, CPA, CA, MBA or equivalent is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong fund accounting and financial reporting for Private Markets structures.
• Understanding of private markets fund structures and operations.
• Working knowledge of platforms such as Investran, Paxus or Geneva.
