VP Engineering - Fintech

About the role

A leading FinTech company, a global network for mobile payments offering cross-border top-up solutions, is looking for a VP Engineering to join its Singapore headquarters. The role reports directly to the CTO and works closely with the leadership team, the CTO, Product and Engineering teams. It combines team management and mentoring with a relatively hands-on approach.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and participate in choosing design, architecture and technologies, and evaluate new ones
• Lead, mentor and manage an engineering team of 20-25 people, including a large remote team split across countries
• Define and execute the engineering roadmap and strategy, and propose platform improvements
• Support the attraction and growth of top engineering talent
• Act as architecture expert and software engineering best-practices expert (code quality, code review, testing)
• Work with product and business development teams on future features and with integration engineers on new features
• Follow and improve software standards and code review processes

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 10+ years of experience in tech, fintech or ecommerce, with at least 3 years managing remote teams
• Proven experience in remote team management and international experience
• Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills; self-starter, adaptable and curious
